8 Aug. Kathmandu Metropolitan City and The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office have announced that they would strictly implement the ‘No Horn’ policy across the valley.
The authorities have requested the vehicle drivers not to blow their horn unless it is essential.
The policy’s effective implementation was initiated jointly by KMC Mayor Balendra Shah and KVTPO’s chief Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Mira Chaudhary on Sunday.
The Kathmandu Valley was declared as a ‘No Horn zone’ on April 14, 2017. However, the policy’s effectiveness has been questioned as vehicles could be heard blowing horns unnecessarily along the roads.
