Election Manifesto of Swatantra Party

Nov. 4: The Rastriya Swatantra Party that is led by media personality Rabi Lamichhane released its manifesto for November 20 elections.

The party has made promises regarding the country’s governance, economics, education, health and society. It has promised to elect the president from the elected representatives. It also promises to make the vice president the chair of the National Assembly and have directly elected prime minister and chief ministers. The National Assembly will only have members who have not been affiliated with any political party for at least six years.

The party also intends to keep the District Coordination Committees, the Provincial Assemblies and the Constitutional Council. In place of the Constitutional Council, it wants chiefs of constitutional bodies to be recommended by the National Assembly and confirmed by the House of Representatives.
