Chitwan, Feb. 19: The Election Commission (EC) has appealed the parties to register for the by-election. It will be held in Chitwan constituency No. 2 on April 23.
The parties should register with an application from February 22 to 28. This constituency became vacant after Rabi Lamichhane’s, the President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), citizenship was found invalid by the Supreme Court.
As per the election schedule, the polls panel will update voter list from February 12 to March 30. Candidates will have to file their nomination papers on April 3 and people can file complaints against them on the next day. On April 5, the EC will publish the final name list of the candidates and allot them election symbols on the following day.
