Kathmandu, Feb. 20: The tenth meeting of the Nepal-India Energy Secretary’s joint directors’ committee held on Saturday. They made decisions on expansion of transmission line and trade promotion.
Kulman Ghising, Executive Director at Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), informed that the decisions were huge achievements. India took positively Nepal’s proposal for exporting electricity to Bangladesh by using Indian transmission grid, he said.
The meeting also decided that Nepal would now be allowed to export electricity via Tanakpur. Only import was possible in the past from there.
About 75 megawatt would be circulated to both sides via 132-KV single circuit transmission line.
