Lumbini, Feb. 24: The Lumbini Buddhist University has taken the policy of Panchsheel, five principles of peaceful coexistence.
The 14th board meeting of the University took this decision. It also stressed the need for following the Buddha’s message of peace, love and kindness for all living beings. It is compulsory to chant Buddha Vandana and put the statues of Buddha before any formal assemblies and meetings of all bodies under the University.
According to the University, it is to protect and conserve Buddhist philosophy, culture and art to match the purpose of the establishment of the University.
The University council meeting was chaired by its registrar Dr. Tilak Ram Acharya. The University runs the classes of Bachelor and Master Degree on Buddhist philosophy.
