Second National Economists’ Conference

Kathmandu, Mar. 10: The second National Economists’ Conference will be held in Kathmandu on March 10-11. It is going to be organized by the National Economic Concern Society (NECS) Nepal in collaboration with various organizations.

In the statement issued by the NECS, the two-day conference was divided into an opening session on the first day and a technical session on the second day. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is scheduled to inaugurate the conference.

The Prime Minister as well as former Prime Ministers, former Finance Ministers, representatives of political parties, current and former vice-chairmen of the National Planning Commission, governors and former governors of the Nepal Rastra Bank, senior and emerging economists, representatives of Nepal Bankers Association, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Confederation of Nepalese Industries, Nepal Chamber of Commerce will participate in the conference.

Vice Chancellors of Universities, Chairman of Rural and Municipal Federation, parliamentarians, representatives of banking sector, university professors and students, experts involved in policy research, industrialists, people of various levels concerned with the national economy and journalists will be also present.

Various topics of the economy, including uncontrolled imports and its effect, raising interest rates and investment environment will be discussed in this conference to support the creation of an investment-friendly environment and the promotion of domestic industries.
