Cricketers Rewarded

Baitadi, March 13:  The Sudurpaschim Province government has announced to give a prize of Rs. 100,000 to each cricketer to reach Nepali National Cricket team to the U-19 World Cup Cricket. The victory of Nepal held in Asia Regional Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has secured the place in the ICC U-19 World Cup Cricket to be held in 2024.     

Out of the cricketers playing from Nepali team, five are from Sudurpaschim Province. The provincial government made the announcement for their efforts to encourage them in their sports. Four officials (head coach, assistant coach, manager and physiotherapist) will be rewarded with Rs 50,000 each.

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Chairperson Chatur Bahadur Chand took major role to reward those five sportspersons by the provincial government. Chand himself is from Sudurpaschim Province.

The CAN itself has announced to reward every member of the team winning in the Qualifier match with Rs 100,000. The CAN has appealed other provincial governments to follow it to encourage sportspersons to promote sports sector.
