Citizenship Issues of NRNA

Kathmandu, Mar. 18: A delegation of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) called on President Ram Chandra Paudel on Friday.

According to a press statement issued by the NRNA, Executive President Rabina Thapa drew attention of President Paudel to issues such as the Non-Resident Nepali Act, the continuation of the previously acquired citizenship based on parentage, the right to property, the steps to be taken to include Nepali workers in foreign employment in the social security fund etc.

Stating that there are still some legal hurdles to establish an investment environment in Nepal, President Kul Acharya said that it is necessary to stop capital flight and create an environment to attract investment.

In the event, the founder president of NRNA Dr. Upendra Mahato said that the NRNs had started a campaign to build a prosperous country and requested President Paudel for efficient guardianship of the campaign.

Addressing the delegation of the NRNA, President Paudel said that he was aware of the activities and campaigns of the NRNs and expressed his commitment to taking positive initiatives in addressing the issues raised by the association.
