Kathmandu, May 4: The Government of Nepal announced a cash prize of Rs. 600,000 to each members of national cricket team who defeated the United Arab Emirates by 7 wickets in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup final. The players became able to book their ticket to 2023 Asia Cup.

The team officials will receive Rs. 300,000 each. The government has also promised to distribute a budget to upgrade the TU Cricket ground to an international standard cricket stadium.

The win secured Nepal a place alongside cricket leader India and host Pakistan in the Group A of the Asia Cup to take place in September. Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the super 4 stages.

This is the first time Nepal has progressed to the Asia Cup since 2002, when they finished runners up in the ACC Trophy.
