Kristin Harila’s completion of 14 peaks

May 4: Norwegian woman climber Kristin Harila has completed all 14 peaks above 8,000m. after she stood at the top of Mt. Cho Oyu.

According to Mingma Sherpa, Managing Director at Climbalaya Treks, Kristin along with Tenjen Sherpa and Ngima Rita Sherpa climbed Cho Oyu from Tibetan side. Kristin climbed Mt. Shishapangma last Wednesday.

Kristin, who holds multiple fastest climbing records, also became the first woman climber to make the fastest ascent of 14 peaks above 8,000m.

The 37-year-old climber started her record-setting attempt scaling Mt Annapurna I, the tenth highest peak in the world, on 28 April 2022. Kristin scaled Mt. Manaslu on September 22, 2022 completing her 12th 8000m. in less than 5 months.

As per the report on 8000ers.com, celebrated climber Nirmal ‘Nims’ Purja had scaled 14 peaks in 2 years, 5 months and 15 days but Kristin Harila reached all true summits completing 14 peaks in just 1 year and 5 days.
