Arrest of 10 Indian nationals with Nepali citizenship cards

Kathmandu, May 7: The Kathmandu police have arrested 10 Indian nationals on charge of taking Nepali citizenship cards by producing fake documents.

A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Minbhawan, caught them from various parts of Kathmandu Valley. The police made them public amid a press conference.

Senior Superintendent of Police Dr Manoj KC said that the arrestees are found to have obtained Nepali citizenship certificates on different dates from the district administration offices, Rupandehi, Bara and Parsa. The police also seized Nepali citizenship cards, and voter identity cards, Indian passports and Aadhar cards from them.

The arrestees have been identified as Bharat Prasad Gupta, Rahul Gupta, Gyanmati Devi Gupta, Gopal Gupta, Ram Sundar Gupta, Ram Prabesh Gupta, Bharat Gupta, Snehalata Gupta, Mindevi Gupta, and Rajesh Kumar Gupta, all from Bihar in India. All of them were currently living in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley.
