Lumbini, May 9: Lumbini will be hosting the ‘Buddhist International Travel Mart’ aiming to promote tourism in the birthplace of Gautam Budhha.
The event to be supported by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Nepal Tourism Board and the Nepal Association of the Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has been scheduled to be held on May 11-13.
According to NATTA President Ramesh Thapa, the event is expected to be attended by over 200 people who include tourism entrepreneurs, Buddhist Bhikshus, and representatives from the Buddhist associations. Likewise, tour operators and national tourism council representatives from over a dozen of countries including Nepal, China, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Myanmar, and Korea, will also participate in the event.
The event is expected to cost around Rs. 16 million. Lumbini Province Chief Minister Dilli Bahadur Chaudhary will inaugurate the three-day event.
