Journalists’ minimum wage recommended to Rs. 34,124

Kathmandu, May 21: Minimum Wages Fixation Committee has recommended making journalists’ minimum wages Rs. 34,124 per month.

According to Minimum Wages Fixation Committee chair Sangeeta Khadka, member Tenish Roka and other members proposed the minimum salary of the journalist Rs. 34,124 by meeting Communication and Information Technology Minister Rekha Sharma.

If the cabinet meeting approves, the committee recommendation will be implemented.

Journalists’ minimum wage is Rs. 24,600 now.
